The situation
Ingogo is the first Australian taxi booking service to develop a taxi app and mobile payments. The app was designed to shake up the Australian taxi industry by allowing people to book a taxi online and track its whereabouts in real-time. The company is currently expanding their driver network across Australia.
The challenge
Ingogo was seeking a solution that would allow their drivers to be paid in a more timely manner and not in cash.
The solution
EML was able to use their internal systems to develop a program which allowed for immediate load to the customised Visa Prepaid Cards held by the taxi drivers through instant disbursement within EML’s system. This facilitated via secure connection with Ingogo’s systems through API. This assisted in streamlining Ingogo’s payroll process and provided a valuable selling point to potential drivers.
The outcome
Since 2013, Ingogo has been able to use their arrangement with EML to better attract drivers and compete with companies such as Uber. It also increased the efficacy of their payroll system and security of their payments.
