New office space promotes innovation and collaboration
In October 2016, the EML team moved into a new office location at 8330 Ward Parkway in Kansas City, Mo. The open office space is a perfect match to the new EML brand – a fresh modern environment that fosters communication and teamwork.
After reviewing 30-plus potential new office locations, the EML executive team selected a space in the Ward Parkway business corridor in southern Kansas City. In making the selection, the team carefully evaluated the company’s culture, quality of life for employees, long-term costs, and proximity to great services and businesses.
“Our business success is directly linked to enhancing the well-being of our employees and customers, and the new office on Ward Parkway fulfills both of those,” says Matt Waldie, COO of EML North America.
The new EML office space has been completely renovated to create an innovative, collaborative environment. The modern, open space features stand-up desks and collaboration tables, ample conference rooms, lounge seating areas, hoteling stations and a café/break area with coffee, sodas and snacks. The building also has Google Fiber, an on-site deli for quick meals, covered parking and 24/7 security.
“Our previous work space hindered collaboration and stifled communication,” says Eric Mettemeyer, CEO of EML North America. “We needed a space that was consistent with our values of High Performance, Team, Trust and Customer Focus, and our new office delivers.”
The recent move is just one more exciting event in an already very busy year for EML. In June of 2016, Store Financial USA was acquired by Emerchants Ltd., a payment card technology provider based in Australia. Shortly after the acquisition, the Emerchants and Store Financial brands came together under a fresh, new brand, EML.
“The new office relocation is a reflection of where we are going as a company. The move will create new jobs for the State of Missouri as we pursue an aggressive growth plan,” Waldie says.
The EML team continues to expand, and with more than 23,000 square feet of office space at the new Ward Parkway location, there’s room to support company growth and team additions. Mettemeyer knows the move to Missouri was the right decision for the business.
“We are grateful for the support of the State of Missouri. They are investing in our growth, and we look forward to giving back to the State through continued job creation and community involvement,” he says.
